Rustic Turkey burger with sweet potato fries

The recipe that I chose was the burger recipe because I knew that many people have had it before and it was easy to modify. to modify the original burger recipe I chose to reduce sodium and increase fiber. I did this by switching the burger bun to whole wheat bread and switched the hamburger for turkey. I also switched the regular fries for sweet potato fries. I wanted to reduce sodium because I have hypertension and have to reduce sodium. I also wanted to increase fiber to make the meal more nutrient dense/ more filling.

The flavor over all was better than the original recipe and it also had a better texture than the original burger. it also looked better than the original because it had a nice rustic look to it. The turkey burger had a better taste because it worked very well with the fresh lettuce and tomato. I used many spices to keep the flavor without the salt. The turkey burger was also a lot more juicy than the regular burger was, and the sweet potato fries had more flavor than the regular ones. so not only was this meal healthier it also tasted better overall in my experience.

Overall I see this as a complete success and I would highly recommend turkey burgers over regular ones. Some advice that I would give to anyone who would like to make this recipe is to ensure you have fresh tomato and lettuce as it just added to the overall flavor. You could also add condiments such as mayo or ketchup in small amounts if you want a little more flavor. One thing that I highly recommend doing is toasting the bread because it greatly adds to the overall experience. This recipe also reduces the amount of saturated fat but not with too much significance. In conclusion if your looking to reduce your sodium and increase fiber but don't want to miss out on flavor then I recomend trying out the recipe.
